Mobile-ready sites & Google

Last year we wrote about how Google would start to penalise firm’s whose websites don’t comply with their mobile responsive rules (see below).

On 21st April 2015, Google will change how they rank your website based on how mobile-ready it is – this is a global change, not just for the UK.

A mobile site is one that adjusts its layout based on the browser being used as well as the size and orientation of the display in use.

Your site may be penalised in the mobile-search rankings if is not mobile-ready.

This does not affect SEO rankings from desktop computers – just searches that are made using phones & tablets. So it’s worth looking at your website’s Google Analytics, to see what proportion of your visitors originate from mobile Google searches.
